Vocational Training for Women
NRGroup is an equal opportunities organization. Women are employed across all levels and categories in the group companies. As part of its corporate social responsibility, the group is ardently committed towards empowerment of women from rural, tribal and uneducated backgrounds throughout India. This is done by providing vocational training to women in bamboo splitting and sticks making, agarbathy rolling, packaging etc. The programmes are conducted directly and through various State Government agencies, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, Non Governmental Organisations, Self Help Groups and organisations like Initiative for Development Foundation.

In an initiative aiming at the welfare of prison inmates, vocational training programmes have been conducted at Mysore Central Prison and prisons across the state too. With participation of the Ministry of Labour, fisherwomen at Mahe and Pondicherry were given training for alternate income generation opportunities after the Tsunami.
